Workshop in Gothenburg – June 10, 2017

Kriya and Laya Yoga

Kriya means action, more specifically the action of purification of consciousness. Laya yoga means the yoga of “absorption” or “dissolving”. It entails dissolving the vibrations of energy in your body in order to direct your consciousness to the crown of your head and thereby merge back into oneness. In this workshop we will discuss how in ISHTA the profound kriya yoga techniques balance the subtle pathways in your being, which bringing you in to a state of yoga, and how you can then use transformational laya yoga to transcend from mortal consciousness to immortal awareness.

Lecture: ISHTA Tantra, Kriya, and Laya Yoga, and the process of Meditation

Tantra comes from the root words tanoti, which means “expansion”, and trayati, which means “liberation”. This lecture will focus on the Tantric approach to the practice of yoga, and will bring to life the concepts of duality and non-duality as embodied by the energetic forces of Shiva/Shakti. We will then look at the practices of Kriya and Laya Yoga, and how they can profoundly deepen the daily experience of yoga. 15:00 – 15:30 Fika

ISHTA Tantra and Laya in Practice

Starting with an asana practice, we will explore the technique of Sah/Ham kriya, This will be followed by an ISHTA AUM meditation with Brahmuri. We will delve in to the state of sense withdrawal known as pratyahara, and then move consciousness through different levels of awareness so as to experience a deep state of Samadhi.
